WEST SACRAMENTO — Raley’s is tuning over its general merchandise/health, beauty and wellness (GM and HBW) operations to Unified Grocers, Inc. The two companies reached an agreement that includes leasing the Raley’s warehouse in Stockton and allowing Unified to become Raley’s third-party provider for GM and HBW products.
Unified will hire all the employees who work at the Stockton facility under the agreement. The Stockton facility is only eight miles from Unified’s own Stockton warehouse and allows the company to consolidate and add additional GM and HBW volume and store supply sales volume.
“We are looking forward to better serving our members from this facility, starting immediately with our newest member Haggen,” said Bob Ling, President and Chief Executive Officer of Unified Grocers in a release about the agreement. “In addition, the potential is there to serve other companies from this location as well.”
The addition of the Stockton warehouse also adds to Unified’s growing wellness category of goods. It will allow the company to free up space in other warehouses as the company continues to grow.
